Black Friday is retail outlets acknowledging they understand they don't share enough of their enormous profits with their employees.

Like so many talking heads it's easy to tell what's wrong, what is causing the problem, and what needs to be done. Only when the How is agreed on by enough people will things change and that hasn't happened yet. Voting is important to a point, but as it has been shown many times votes can disappear or change at the push of a button. It's hard to motivate people to risk everything for an idea, even more so if they only have a little, and to be honest I haven't thought of or heard anyone come up with an idea I'd risk anything for yet, but I'm hopeful someone will.

The reason jobs have stagnated is because of evolution. Our evolution. We evolved to the point where people actually work more than they should at an inadequate paying job (or several of them). While automation and innovation has been controlled and largely stymied and bought-off. The petro-chemical industry model has used its money and position of influence to restrict development in many areas because it would undermine their financial models and render them obsolete.

All that increased productivity that we experienced over the past three decades through invention and computers has almost all inured to the 1% while the poor and middle class stagnated and then fell far, far behind. We should be working 15 or 20 hour weeks. And that should be enough work for a person to have a decent life. But the capitalist model won't allow that. All profits belong to the corporation.

- There are numerous alternative models out there and no doubt when all this Ponzi shit finally collapses we'll get around to trying them.

I find it interesting that the 60 min guys and others had no mention of the phenomenon already taking place because of the robots and so called high tech

I am seeing it almost daily where I live

Mainly the middle age and young so far but creative people with at least a little money are opting out of the system entirely

I mean entirely as no internet,no store bought food,no cars or tractors etc etc

Even going so far as to creating THEIR OWN 'towns' and communities

It's almost as if they are the 'new Amish'

This will have to be factored into any discussion of a future that includes democratic principles competing head to head with unbridled capitalism and their love of machines and hatred of nature.

As the old Chinese proverbs says
"May we live in interesting times"

intended to keep wages low and the lower classed from progressing. Sure the banks made money went unpunished but just how many businesses went under that weren't already doomed? Mortgage companies made money by watching home owners go under if one really looks at the total picture.
They talk about the minimum wage and that it should be increased to $10.10 when if the Dept. of Labor would release all the stats that is normally used to what the wage should be as they did back in the 90's then our actual minimum wage should be $15.00 hr. +
So we know we will never see a wage increase over the next two years and probably not in the next 4.
Which means with the Republican Majority its only going to get worse.
