The Republican Party is nothing more than a pack of jackals that pander to the racists who dominate the ranks of their party. The South was solidly in the Democratic camp until the Democrats championed the Civil Rights and Voter Rights legislation. Until that time they hated the Republican Party because it was the party of Lincoln until they switch their hatred to the Democrats. With the South and sadly a large section of the nation racism is a core value for most Republicans. Their hatred is so intense that are willing to vote against their own interest. I lived in the South and have many relatives who continue to reside throughout Georgia and Mississippi and I can assure you that it is the dominate issue in determining their vote. When a I see a African-American embrace the Republican Party it is difficult for me to understand their allegiance.

We're backsliding. At this rate, voting by African-Americans will be illegal in 10 years, voting by women in 20, and voting period in 30.

Again I paraphrase Ann Richards: Stick a fork in us. We're done!
