(13,842 posts)I assume they are including Obama in the "One ruling party". I also assume Hillary Clinton is in it. It makes one cynical to realize that mainstream Democrats really don't offer us much change. And yet, people go gaga over both of them in this forum. I think Obama is a nice guy and maybe he really thought he could make big changes in the country but he didn't go after the corruption on Wall St. and his signature health care program came from Mitt Romney. If he had gone after a few of the corrupt financial heads at the big banking firms and if he had at least allowed the single-payer option to be debated I wouldn't feel so cynical. Perhaps Cenk is right.

(17,997 posts)Maybe he still thought even if he left the banks alone, he could change enough. Maybe he didn't care. But so much of what he did and didn't do is about the money.
It's all about, and always about, the money.

(13,842 posts)After 8 years of Bush and Neo-Fascist Cheney, Obama seemed like the real deal. Maybe we just wanted to fool ourselves-Obama sold us on the image and we bought it. It looks like we are almost at the stage where the one party tells us to sit down and shut up.

I guess I don't quite get the disconnect on the part of the Clinton and Obama cheerleaders in this forum.

(88 posts)They willfully march to the Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Obama disaster because they are too young to understand how real democracy works? (or what a government of, by, and for the people is?)

(27,137 posts)They now know exactly what will be done, exactly what has been done -- a lot of complaining, caterwauling, griping, and gnashing-of-teeth. In other words, nothing.
If even Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders say the system is rigged, then how the hell exactly does one go about un-rigging a rigged system? With two people? With basically no real power, and no money since the opposition owns the Fed's printing presses?
