5000 likes, 30,000 dislikes. I love how the Russian Defense Ministry has a show about pop stars:
"Excuse me for a moment, I'm feeling sick," another viewer wrote.
Mashani has already been interviewed by Zvezda, a national television channel run by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Despite her apparent crush on the president -- the clip shows her poring over photos of Putin and drawing his portrait -- Mashani says that "singing only about love is boring."
"The song supports the president and expresses my views as a citizen," she told Zvezda. "Our president is the only person who can help Ukraine."
She added that, apart from Russia, "no one in the world needs Ukraine."

LYRICS
Where is your fear
When facing the prospect of war on all fronts
You see the path,
You coming towards the wind and never turn
Its risky
You are self-confident
And true to yourself
What about me?
Enchanted, bewitched
I cant forget you
Whos he, after all?
And you
Refrain:
Youre Putin, you are so Putin,
I want to be with you
Im screaming after you
My Putin, my dear Putin
Take me with you
I want to be with you
That life of yours
Is full of bright colors and feigned masks
And thru the smoke
You challenging the world, returning Crimea
Then following this deed
You will restore our own
All-freedom Union
What about me?
Enchanted, bewitched
I cant forget you
Whos he, after all?
And you
Refrain.
What here can be done?
To run, to run, to run!
To run? Of course, we will run after him!
Because hes Putin!

(3,982 posts)For goodness sakes, she's just a silly teen, like we have here. The story, and particularly the way that such stories are selected and obsessed on (and distorted) reflect a subtle bigotry. Better not to post than to expose one's intolerance toward those who are different from them.

: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

(6,419 posts)I don't see you posting about real bigotry anywhere. I don't see you concerned about the slow pogrom against gays in Russia. About the neo-nazi death squads run by the Kremlin. No, you see bigotry when someone laughs at the latest Putin-worship in the controlled Russian media.
Wait I think I see your point of view:
LEAVE MASHANI ALONE!

(5,106 posts)Critically Thinking Minds would like to know what's behind the sudden vicious attacks on RTV. Smells a lot like Koch Bros and Frank Luntz. Nothing scary about hearing the other side of FOX (Rupert Murdoch plus Saudi Arabia/possibly real 9/11 villains--again, just give it some thought) TV. REALLY! No need to bash on the opposite side of what you like to believe. Two words: Critical Thinking: which might screw your mind up a bit.

(1,486 posts)They had a segment called "Nuland's Kiev" where this guy said "Putin is winning" and claimed that there's evidence that the MH17 disaster was a Ukrainian "false flag" operation. You can't make this garbage up.

(6,699 posts)...I get the impression the song consists of about 12 words repeated over and over and over and over. What a macho third world dictator. It's all he has.....his macho image and a bunch of empty headed followers who would follow him right off a cliff if he led them there.
Sort of sounds a bit like ted cruz and the teabaggers, without the love song.

(2,065 posts)As I was watching the video, I was mumbling to myself, "Why the #@ck didn't they put the translation up as subtitles? The video definitely needs a remake with subtitles. But at least now I know what she is singing about Putin. For all I knew, when I was listening to the video, she could have been singing, "Putin, Putin, you lousy jerk...". She's absolutely gorgeous, and reminded me, in her waxing rhapsodic about Putin, of Obamagirl - anyone remember her? Although this lady is pretty good lookin', Obamagirl was absolutely smokin' hot!

Putin is a demagogue, an ultra-nationalist, a war war pimp, an imperialist, one who scapegoats and persecutes minorities and a compulsive liar.
One day the Russian people will see that they're being sold a bill of goods and make a lamppost ornament of the tyrant.

(31,232 posts)MOSCOW -- Russia's foreign minister says North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has given a positive response to the Kremlin's invitation to visit Russia.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Kim's response had been "positive, as a first signal," a statement that echoed earlier comments by Russian President Vladimir Putin's foreign affairs adviser. Lavrov didn't elaborate.
Moscow has invited many global leaders - including Kim and the presidents of China and South Korea - to May celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany, which will feature a Red Square parade.
