Brought to Africa’s Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre at only a month old, the young bull Matimba had lost his mother to poachers. Found close to her lifeless body, Matimba was discovered defenseless, hungry, and scared and immediately transported to the centre where staff went to work on settling the orphan into his new home. Watch as Matimba bravely takes a walk with one of the centre’s staff. Go, Matimba, go!

Since Matimba's arrival a week ago at HESC, he settled in and went for his first walk outside his boma and sleeping hut.
