Related: About this forumScott Walker Dismisses ‘Elitist’ Criticism That He Dropped Out of College
Walker appeared on Fox News tonight and told Megyn Kelly its just the elitist government-knows-best top-down approach from Washington, and argued the country hasnt exactly been faring well under an Ivy League president.
To be clear, Walker isnt dismissing the importance of college outright. He hopes his own sons finish their college education, but at the same time, he said, you dont have to have that to be successful.

(5,075 posts)I have family who are not college educated who are better people than Walker ever could be, even though they support him in many instances.
I criticize his Scott-centric-vision, divisiveness and lack of compassion.
He just wants the upstream path cleared for himself so he can trickle-down to his cronies.
(though it would be interesting if Marquette released his record)

(46,416 posts)Why didn't he just finish his degree online? Most professional jobs require it, as a minimum. I'm not seeing where he's so unique and talented and visionary that he can plausibly rationalize not earning a basic BA/BS.

(33,982 posts)Only time I ever set foot in a college was for my wife's graduation. I do quite well without it, and would happily go toe to toe with a bag of shit like Scott Walker, any day.
It's easy to predict what someone is going to do or say, when you realize their entire worldview is colored by power and greed.
Edit: And the man is even less clever than Chris Christie. If you can believe that.

(33,982 posts)The two issues are actually unrelated. Plenty of humans out there that dropped out of college that didn't go on to become stupid, petty, mendacious and corrupt politicians.

(11,843 posts)My belief is that he was allowed to "voluntarily withdraw" to avoid something that neither the school nor he wanted public.
He certainly would have already paid for that semester, I don't know many people that would just walk away...

(26,624 posts)in this country don't want a drop out running this country. There is something arrogant about someone who expects others to do the heavy lifting so they can get a pass. Thank goodness the heart surgeon he or his family might need will not be bullied for getting an education.

(740 posts)but, I did do a 5-year electrical apprenticeship, and passed my jw test the first time, does that count?
education and teachers , esp. professors become the enemy ?

(23,238 posts)docile, uninformed, ignorant, uninsightful slaves who lacked critical thinking skills to be able to figure out how the masters were raping, pillaging, and plundering the wealth of the working class. They would be more dependent on the masters and thus less willing to upset the existing order. Guarantees their profits more.
