Bobby Kennedy speaks after the MLK assassination. Important tonight.

One of the greatest speeches in American history, and so very important. I was in Detroit in 1967, and remember. I was there in 1968, and remember when both were cut down. And so much more, that changed our world, and not for the better.

But with what is happening in Baltimore tonight, it's worth remembering tonight. Hell, this speech is worth remembering every night.

A prayer for peace and justice tonight.

They blocked off both ends of the street. Put slate in the sidewalk to mark the path of the bullet from across the road. A simple wreath on the railing where MLK died.
Amazingly moving.
Today I read the tweets of John Angelos, COO of Baltimore Orioles regarding the Baltimore Riots. He called out the roots of the problem in a reasonable, righteous manner.
I am amazed people talk about rioting WITHOUT mentioning the cause, why not talk about a 25 yo man killed in police custody simply because he RAN when he saw them? Hell, if i were black I would run at the sight of police.

"As conceived by Randolph and Rustin, the great event was not just a “March on Washington,” or even a “March on Washington for Civil Rights,” but “the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.” And yes, jobs came first. One purpose was to raise the minimum wage from $1.15 to $2.00 an hour (about $15 in today’s dollars, more than double today’s minimum of $7.25). That focus suited King: By 1963, he was on his way to being a “union man,” even a kind of labor leader."

Thank you for posting this wonderful speech.
