SpaceX rocket explosion: 'It's space and it's difficult'

An unmanned SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying supplies for the International Space Station broke apart minutes after liftoff. As engineers analyze flight data to pinpoint what went wrong, NASA and SpaceX officials emphasize no negligence was involved.

As Gerstenmeyer points out, all three cargo carriers had a launch explode in the past year: Progress, Orbital, and now SpaceX

A few years ago, the ISS was almost abandoned when Soyuz was grounded.

We need the redundancy of at least three carriers.

Some in Congress want to save money by down-selecting from two US carriers to one.

They already down-selected from three.

Funding for DreamChaser should be restored, and funding should be increased for SpaceX and Boeing.

You're GODDAMN right it's difficult! And that why space exploration should NEVER be for profit because the bottom line will always come before safety. What if this piece of crap had gone off course and blown up over Merritt Island or some other populated area?
