Why are nurses endorsing Bernie Sanders for President?

Published on Aug 28, 2015
National Nurses United Endorses Senator Bernie Sanders for President

Caring, compassion, and community. These are the values at the heart of registered nursing. This is true at the bedside, as nurses advocate for patients and families—and also beyond the walls of the hospital, as RNs call for environmental, racial, and economic justice in the name of public health. National Nurses United, which represents some 190,000 nurses nationwide, seeks to uphold that positive vision for the health of this country by endorsing Senator Bernie Sanders for president. #nurses4bernie

Surviving nursing school means surviving math and hard sciences as well as the social sciences and humanities.

Remember, nurses are also the main voices calling for transaction taxes on Wall Street, taking the enormous profit out of EFT and stopping it from skewing every trade.

Sanders is the only one out there who is telling the truth. Even the rare thoughtful Republican is impressed by that.

I'm just being honest. Why else would someone take a job like that instead of joining a bank?

people who take care of people, not money, for a living. (Some lawyers take care of money; some take care of people. Depends. Some do both.)

Caring professions. Teachers.

Lots of them.

Because Bernie reflects their values.

Note that people in caring professions tend to be articulate and persuasive. They tend to have language skills. They may not make a lot of money, but their talents are worth a lot to a campaign, and Bernie's campaign is really just starting now.
