(40,416 posts)There were so many great episodes in the original. And the actors in those episodes were wonderful, often early in their careers, but equally often late in their careers. Rod Serling's vision and writing was astounding, which is why The Twilight Zone was so great.
There were so many great episodes that one has difficulty singling a greatest one out.
I have no experience of the reboot series. But if OS supports it, it must have had value, because I know he was a true fan of the original.

(46,051 posts)That may be heresy. The production values were astonishing, and so was the acting.

(99,659 posts)The third season sucked. It was done by a different crew just so CBS could syndicate it.

(8,175 posts)I only remember one episode though...it freaked me out I couldn't forget it. A child in bed...the mom (I think) comes in the room to find the child missing but she hears him/her calling. The dad comes in and they finally find a hole in the wall near the bed, where the child disappeared into the wall. Not a visible hole...you have to feel it. You can't see it. And after calling the child and being unable to get him/her back to the wall, the father goes into the ether to find him/her.
It was just too scary for my young self...
I also remember a movie we saw as kids that freaked me out. I can't find a reference to it anywhere now, but it was the first horror movie we were ever allowed to see, and it was called "The First Man Into Space". This guy goes out in a rocket that is hit by a meteor. It falls back to earth, and he is alive, but covered with meteoric material, so he looks like a monster, and the only way he can stay alive is by drinking human blood.
Does anyone else here remember that movie?
OMG...I just found the trailer for it. It was from 1959. I was ten years old.
Whoops...sorry for the thread derail. Now back to your original programming.

(8,175 posts)Steve just pm'd me the Twilight episode (on Hulu) that I remembered rather badly, called "Little Girl Lost". I was 13 when I saw it and that was a hell of a long time ago (53 years). But I got to watch it again tonight and now I understand why it affected me so strongly as a kid. It's still damn creepy.
Thank you so much Steve. That was a fun blast from the past.
