The New York Times was offended. "We find it's outrageous that he would ridicule the appearance of one of our reporters," a spokesperson told CNNMoney.
Trump's performance was prompted by a story Kovaleski had written in 2001 that refuted claims that thousands of Muslims in Jersey City cheered the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
Kovaleski worked for the Washington Post in 2001 and investigated those reports immediately after the terror attack. His story concluded that the alleged celebrations by Muslims didn't happen.
Trump used an exaggerated voice and arm action as he pretended to be Kovaleski.
"Now the poor guy, you've got to see this guy: 'Uhh, I don't know what I said. I don't remember.'..... Trump knows Kovaleski and is aware of his physical appearance from the years when Kovaleski worked at the New York Daily News and frequently covered Trump.

(32,623 posts)This is a good article about one of his rallies-

He starts the thing by telling the audience to turn around an look at the media, so they all turn around and boo. Ejected protesters get spit on and told that if they weren't filming they'd be slapped. He tells the fans his rallies are the most exciting because that happens.
He re-uses all of rhetoric that has been so thoroughly castigated. It's a real hate fest.
And they LOVE him.

(3,233 posts)Trump kicks off every rally by demonizing reporters. Tuchman said during one rally, he turned around and saw several young white men who were screaming and shaking their fists at the press pool.
Tuchman said he'd covered many political campaigns, and never had seen anything like that.
I think it's safe to say Trump's supporters have been radicalized.

(32,623 posts)I don't think the print media should either. It would suit me fine though if his TV invites just dried up.

Is he really serious or is this a rich man's perverted game.
