of these guns will fall into the hands of toddlers. Is it worth the risk? By the sales, the odds just went up 185K of 3M. I mean, how many more innocent children and adults have to die to guns, just so you can say "I need it for protection". The last I heard, this country was NOT in a police state. Note I said COUNTRY, not your town.

So let's arm every man, and woman and make it legal to carry anywhere. Lets say we all go to the mall and a fight breaks out. Everyone pulls out theirs guns for protection. Split second decisions will need to be made on what to do and who to shoot. The quickest hand obviously wins. Once that first shot is heard, what do you think the result will be? Where do you think you'll be?

Yeah, I really need protection, don't I?

2. There is no increase in "safety" when you create a net increase in danger.

More people with guns will NEVER make the general population safer. Just more likely to die in a brainless, fear-fest crossfire when these morons buying guns for "safety" get spooked by a car back-firing.

It is also quite possible that purchases are for more than over-blown concerns of terrorism, bans and anti-somebody rhetoric.

They may be a way of showing a collective middle finger to over-heated rhetoric.

If you are Really concerned about "proliferation," quit "putting out the fire with gasoline." (Bowie)

and have been running factories 24-7 since before tRump & Co. discovered the bigotry can work like a champ. Just before San Bernandino, the NICS reported over 186,000 clearances for sale. A record for ONE DAY. And the previous month was a record.

Please review Pew, Yougov, and Gallup's data re: increases in buyers. There is an increasing chance there are More buyers, not the usual suspects making additional purchases. It may behoove one to try some serious attempts at dialog, rather than to trot out the usual Cartoon Nooz.
