mating rituals. Never knew these things existed, much less had complex social lives. Amazing how they resemble people in certain ways (clean nest, good dancers, lots of stamina and strength, etc).

I don't know if it was the same documentary, but 60-Minutes did a wild show some years ago about this place in Indonesia (New Guinea?) that was so remote, and so filed with unknown life that almost no one was allowed in, and it's location to be the equivalent of a state secret in order to preserve it.

The birds were one thing, but what I most remember was the plant life; flowers and plants found nowhere else in the world. Amazing colors, shapes, and beauty.

Now I'll have to Google and see if it's on YouTube.

Japanese photographer Tadashi Shimada was on a mission to find a very elusive bird that has never had its ritual filmed before and let me tell you it was beautiful. Here's a link to the show from NHK's website:

Update: Found the whole video here:

Really good stuff. Didn't know it was a National Geographic thing.

From song and dance like the Birds of Paradise to naked skin, the ability to sing and talk, breasts and curves in women, men's penises which are larger than other primates, and much more.
