It's better for a thousand guilty people to go free than for a single innocent person to be jailed.

We have that totally flipped now. The innocent are expected to cooperate and submit to being arrested based on the idea that it assures the guilty don't get away.

BTW: The moment you QUESTION it - that's resisting,...and that makes you guilty.

. . . because he isn't Jon Stewart. But I think he is settling into his gig quite nicely -- as himself, and not as an imitation of his also very talented predecessor.
