The Peat Bog Soldiers



A song of hope from people who kept faith in a time of utter hopelessness...the antifascists who were among the first arrestees of the Third Reich. They were put to work for endless hours each day cutting peat moss to heat the stoves of their Nazi captors, and were marched out to the peat bogs each day in quasi-military formation, shovels held on their shoulders like rifles.
