SO are we going to see places like that have little dictatorships in each state? Its bad enough Trump may want to be a dictator, but to have each state turn into a little dictatorship is gonna be messed up beyond imagination.

I think we are on the brink of seeing DEMOCRACY DIE...ファック共和党員

But the head needs a willing body and that's the GOP. They're just letting the White House take the blame while they get what they want.

American totalitarianism is on the rise and their is little we can do about it. They currently control all the levers of power, and we may well be witnessing the death of democracy.

The Democratic Party is powerless to stop it, even if they had the guts to stand up and to the bullies, fascists and outright sadistic pigs who are in charge.

We may have to resort to pitchforks and torches. But we'll lose that battle.

Sorry to sound so negative, but it seems that, for the foreseeable future, the bad guys will be dictating who eats, who starves; who thrives and who suffers; who lives and who dies.

It is a strict violation of our first amendment right to assemble.

But it would be great if protesters and the Arizona Republuc newspaper pointed out this is what a Putin did in Russia.

I have no doubt they will be every bit as "GOP" as the current Congress & WH Cabinet.

They've been planning this, putting the pieces in place for a long time.

What do they hope to gain?
Sure fear and intimidation for a short while, but this would just fan the flames. And protests would be even larger, especially once overturned.

Maybe they want an over-reaction? So they can use the excuse that they need this law for security?

BUT:

AMENDMENT I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The moment the actually passes, the ACLU will be in court for an Emergency TRO, followed by a short battle in the courts to declare this BS law as prima facie Unconstitutional.

and I predict they will be using 'black block' dressed police saboteurs to run rampant smashing windows etc to give the militarized riot squad the excuse they need to break some heads. This seems to be the MO now everywhere in the world where they want to shut down a protest. And also to give protesters the label of 'violent', which by proxy also tarnishes whatever cause they are protesting about.

Personally I think protest organizers should say that every protester's face should be uncovered. If you feel strongly enough about a cause you should not have to hide your face. It should be widely pronounced beforehand. And then marshals and others can peacefully tell people to leave the protest if they insist on covering their faces. If they know they have the numbers to surround these groups and stop them they should. It should be widely known so individuals feel empowered to enforce this rule on the fly. Its a price to pay for sure, as many creative people make masks, some like to wear Guy Falks masks. But its the only way forward I think. Many protests not only in the US show provocateurs like this running back behind police lines after their vandalism and wearing boots that are issued by police forces.

I think there are obviously young people that truly believe in anarchy in some form and their right to express their opinion is important, but I think the fact that police use them to make them look bad and also encourage them to turn to violence, as many are angry young people that are primed to lash out at the world and are prone to also be swept up in following their unbeknownst police provocateurs into committing destructive acts.

My husband and I have made arrangements for getting out of the US. We’ve taken a large chunk of our savings, and converted it to cash (in moderate withdrawals to avoid raising flags). One of my old work contacts has agreed to take us into their home in Argentina. I’ve arranged for my brother to take over care of my mother on short notice, and my sister in law to take over caring for my mother in law.

The writings on the wall. We are moving, and moving fast towards fascism.

If you are Muslim, GLBT, Latino (especially of Mexican descent) I highly recommend having a plan to get out of country, and do it quickly with little notice. Right now, they're just getting everything setup and in place, but if history is any indicator, if/when the ball does start rolling, it'll be fast and brutal.
