Ted Cruz, who filled his presidential campaign with a bevy of unhinged Religious Right activists and at one point even willingly shared the stage with an extremist pastor who calls for putting gay people to death and said he would cover himself in cow manure if one of his children was gay, declared at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) today that the Democratic Party’s base is “bat crap crazy.”
