(3,827 posts)Yes, I'm talking about a "Fahrenheit 9/11-type" documentary that exposes these bastards for who they really are.
I do agree with him about a changing of the guard in the DNC leadership-- Ellison would be the perfect fit to lead us into the 2018 & 2020 elections. A concerted grassroots effort (50 state solution) that catapulted us in 2008 should be the starting point for all involved.

(135,425 posts)like it makes a difference. Trump makes him rich. A Clinton presidency would have forced him to work much harder to find something to complain about on film.
I'm not impressed with him at all anymore. After he tried to paint himself as a Woman's March leader, lecturing the crowd about what they have to do, and was tugged away from the mic by Ashley Judd, I've quite soured on his antics.
I don't regard him as a leader in the 'resistance' effort and I don't think he'll motivate a large following (he'll always have die-hard fans). This thing is organic and bottoms-up--no one's waiting for pronouncements from Gods On High; they're working this locally and regionally, and that's great.

(259 posts)I found examples of him saying that Trump could win and Hillary needed to do better campaigning, but I can't find any where he bashed her.

(7,723 posts)I could see the point at which criticism of Hillary got counter-productive.
In any case, my bigger beef here is his take on Trump, and calling him honest is too much!

(29,122 posts)this is actually helping, based on comments even from rethugs in Congress.
I don't have a problem with a feminist of either gender speaking up at a women's march, and proactively mobilizing critical action.

(1,258 posts)is talking like Joe Scarborough about branches of government and things taking care of themselves, and to that I say BULLHOCKEY!
This kind of talk has helped to normalize these maniacs.

(7,723 posts)Never mind the constant barrage of lies from Trump.
The TRump people are are only in honest in trying to do extremist rightwing things.
They are NOT going to do any of the good things they promised.

(9,696 posts)things like saying he could shoot someone and get away with it. I don't think Moore thinks for a minute that trumpft is an honest person.
Fast Walker 52
(7,723 posts)He was saying that Trump was honest about "what he's going to do". But I don't think Trump is honest about replacing ACA with something better or saving SS and Medicare, at all.

(1,736 posts)Moore makes brave, timely, and relevant films. Ever see them? He made his money with left leaning documentaries with a punch. Remember Bowling with Columbine? Sicko? Farenheit 9-11 when trembling liberals were voting for the Iraq War and the Patriot Act? When not one Dem senator was brave enough to call out the vote suppression in Florida as the 2000 election was being certified, Moore put that mess on the big screen. Who else did that?
Hillary Clinton cashed in with Goldman Sachs and people yawn. Moore makes an honest dollar with left films and gets bashed. Welcome to DU!

(9,696 posts)Cynical people always say he's in it for the money. And even if he were "in it for the money" it still woudn't change the content of his docs.
And yes, he said drumpft would win. That didn't mean he wanted him to win. I always thought Hillary would loose no matter who she ran against. Doesn't mean I wanted her to loose. And we know that without all the skulduggery she would have won. But any dem who doesn't recognize that skulduggery is part of the repub play book is going to loose.

(6,828 posts)I've loved Michael since Roger and me. His nineties tv shows, one on nbc and one on fox, were his mix of humor and charming gentle comedy like his Canadian Bacon.
He is on the side of the American way and liberty and justice for all. And his pre-election prediction shows he can be spot on in his observations. He mingles with the little people a lot more than most public figures.
Like my lifelong hero Frank Zappa, Michael is only concerned about wealth in so much as it allows him to create his next works.

ps - didn't he do a nice pre-election anti-propaganda about hillary and how shes not so bad after all?
