(37,648 posts)I watched parts of a number of shows (I don't get MSNBC any more, except streaming), and he was very much down on Trump, after he won the nomination. He railed about the things that Trump said and did, just like everyone else. I remember because I was surprised.
He had been a Jeb Bush supporter, I think. The regular Republicans didn't like Trump at all.

(1,258 posts)He gets angry snapping at everyone,he interrupts and then asks someone on the panel a question then interrupts again.
The other week he said he was so happy with Drumft adm then when he got cornered he changed his mind just like HIS PRESIDENT on any issue related to Trump he blames it on Jimmy Carter,Bill Clinton,Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

(37,648 posts)He has criticized his temperament, his inexperience with government and how things work, his inability to take advice, his bizarre press conferences, his attacks on the press as the "enemy of the people," and a number of times has questioned his mental soundness. He also doesn't to hesitate to point out his high & historical disapproval ratings. He's questioned whether Trump should have access to the nukes. He has questioned Trump's team's connections to Russia. He supported banning Conway from the show because of her lies.
Not exactly hawking Trump. Trump was not his guy.
He is a Republican, though, so his views and interests will not align with the Democrats' views and interests. That's to be expected. I accept a difference in views from some people. Reasonable people can have legitimate differences of opinion. His stance on Trump is remarkable, given his political party.
After Trump won, he got all wishy washy, trying to respectful of the new Prez, but that didn't last long.

(37,648 posts)Trump stopped going on the show because he thought they were "unfair" and too critical of him.

(1,258 posts)with him as long as he is right and as long as he can change the subject and throw what Trump is or is not doing on the Democrats.

Joe's a GOP apologist. He tried to sell us on Trump here.
Could never stand Joe and fail to realize why he is where he is, he's
even less deep and more GOP knee-jerk than George Will
