He spoke to students for free afterwards.

New dem rep candidate for 4th district to replace Pompeo introduced him.

This is what we need in Kansas. A little attention goes a long way.

I am reminded of what happened in Kansas when John Edwards stopped here in 04. (Actually in Lawrence 20miles down the road)

Edwards came through a couple of nights before on the train. There were so many people line up on the tracks just to catch a glimpse that they came back. This is what ensued, and improptu. This of course was before the troubles. I only bring it up to show as with Bernie what a alttle attention will do here.

Brownbackistan is hurting and in need. As Bernie said, we are ground zero for tricke down economics. The GrOPers have been peeing on us for some time and telling us it is raining.

As a one-time Jayhawk I've always been struck by how fiercely liberal KU and eastern Kansas are. Most of the rest of the state is pretty conservative but I would still characterize most of the real people as caring.

As far as that loooooser Brownback, I'm sure he'll just call in the National Guard again (done back in '68(?)) to teach those elites on Oread Hill what a jackboot feels like. Or if his ahole-in-chief gets to militarize the ICE and use the armed forces to quell "disturbances" Oread may no longer be a hill.

Kansas is not as crazy as some would believe. I just think the media has a lot more effect on people in smaller cities than in big ones. The same is true in a lot of states. Progressives in larger cities, backwards in smaller ones. When all you get for information is the newspapers and the network television you live in an information desert. Besides which, the rural poor have always been easy prey for demagogues. We have become a nation divided on class lines more and more. These people know they are losing out and it's easy for politicians to exploit their insecurity. It's the whole history of the south repeated.

....say they are tired of his "lecturing" and why doesn't he ever do anything helpful?

Bernie is a life raft for the Democratic Party. There's a coup going on on the far right and we need a revolution to protect our democratic institutions. Go Bernie!

He will be one of the most vital spokesman for recruiting for millennials and soon to be voters. He has a way of breaking down serious issues and make them so understandable it's like the clouds have opened and the sun is shining.

I love you Bernie!!!
