(30,613 posts)Somebody should've briefed this clown better.
No pal, wiretaps on foreign officials are routine, and if you call them to make nefarious plans, you oughta know you are being listened to.

A veteran congressional aide has jumped into the race to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Frank R. Wolf in Northern Virginia, expanding a Republican field that could grow even more in the coming days.
Robert Wasinger, a Kansas native who has lived in Virginia for nearly two decades, is leaving his post as chief of staff to Michigan Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R) to enter the contest for the 10th district, which stretches from McLean to the West Virginia border and is considered battleground territory by both parties.
....
Wasinger, 42, lives in Fairfax Station and has 11 children. He is no stranger to the campaign trail. In 2010, he ran for an open congressional seat in his native Kansas and came in a distant fourth, though he did manage to raise more than $800,000 for his effort.
Wasinger was also the manager of Sam Brownbacks 2008 presidential campaign and served as chief of staff in Brownbacks Senate office.

(14,144 posts)Is it me or are these talking heads STILL way too polite to these asshats?
I understand that they have to walk a fine line, especially now, to not be labeled one-sided and fake. But fer christ sake, she should have nailed him on the point that it is NOT illegal wiretapping on a private citizen (Flynn) if he just happens to be on the other end when they are listening in on an adversarial foreign government.
She could have offered the scenario that what if they were listening in on a call from an Iranian official to a born-in-America radicalized Muslim living in the US? Should that person's conversation be disregarded?
Also letting him repeat that there is "no evidence" of Russian involvement after saying all these intelligence agencies have already presented the evidence!
I don't know...I just find them still way too conciliatory.

(67,782 posts)....but never admitted that, being a PRIVATE citizen was breaking the law by talking to the Russians before the inauguration.
On the other hand, he claimed that Gore "illegally" spoke to the Chinese in 1996, failing to understand that in 1996 Gore was ALREADY IN OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a dolt he was in that interview.
