Protesters confronted Issa at a pair of back-to-back town halls he held over the weekend, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times. More than 100 people gathered outside the auditorium where Issa held one event, and many were concerned about Republicans' proposal to replace Obamacare.
Issa broke with President Donald Trump's administration by expressing interest in the budget number associated with the repeal bill.
Over the weekend, White House chief economic adviser Gary Cohn and Trump's budget chief Mick Mulvaney joined congressional Republicans in preemptively criticizing the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office's analysis of what the repeal bill would cost and how many people would lose coverage if it passes.
The CBO is expected to issue its report on the House GOP's health care bill as early as Monday.

(2,574 posts)3/10/17 The Judge further doubled down on abject dismissal of Issa's Trumpesque suit against Applegate by hitting Issa with a Anti Slapp decree too. Issa's "defamation" claimed Applegate wrongfully advertised that Issa voted against the 911 Responders Bill and also that Issa has profited from his terms in Congress. The Judge pronounced both of Applegate's ads against Issa simply true...that Issa both voted ag the 911 Responders AND has increased his wealth while in Congress.
Here's a link that diva77 was kind enough to provided yesterday(Sun) about the dismissal and the Anti Slapp decree:

The La Jolla Light on Thurs also had more words from this Judge about the basis of his dismissal.. delicious reading.
Overall for Darrell Issa this Thurs through Sunday in March made for a pretty "stressful" long weekend. Issa found in the Town Halls that he can no longer remain deaf to his very diverse and activated constituents(in a district he won with only 1600 votes) or from the failure of his "Trumpesque" judicial weaponizing that he cannot intimidate his opponent(Applegate is running again) away by waging fabulously expensive lawsuits.
