Misinformation, Fear, And Hate In America

Since 2007, the GOP and the Right Wing Media, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, et al, have been propagating a campaign of irrational fear and hate against President Barak Obama. Watch this video, and tell me how anyone with any intelligence, or any degree of honesty could vote for a Republican. Please leave a comment and share.

If they're not afraid of seeing what the Republican base looks and sounds like, their brethren.
My closest RW acquaintance thinks Rush is just an entertainer, that nobody takes him seriously.
Seriously?

These people are either stupid, willfully ignorant, or just plain evil -- or a combination thereof.
This is dangerous to (what's left of) the Republic and should be roundly condemned.
Stop sitting around shaking your heads in disgust. Stop trying to reason with them. This is wrong. And decent, thoughtful people should stand against them in no uncertain terms.

to think there is such an inconceivable number of people so filled with hate, and much of the hate is based on utter craziness. The scariest ones are those ordinary people who vote, teach children, preach from pulpits, and influence others in many ways. Nauseating.

Nobody on this thread gets this picture. These groups are growing. And they hate you and they have guns.
Let me repeat: They hate you. What part of the word, hate, do people around here not understand?
And that hate is ginned up everyday on the radio, TV, and on their blogs.
Meanwhile, ordinary, decent, thoughtful people just shake their heads.
I'm tellin' ya'. Mark my words: This is dangerous.

The fact that the propagandists can have as much time to spew their shit as their backers want to pay for is what's done us in.

If they got ten minutes and someone on our side got ten minutes and so on and so on, they'd never have been able to pull the wool over so many people's eyes.

I have seen the source material and to see how it's percolated through this country in the last 20 years and it is vile.

I was unable to go through more than 20% of the video. I am sick and frightened by this. Two separate realities created by media, not listening to each other.

The author, David Brock, has traced this back to Nixon when he used coded racists words in his '68 campaign in order to attract "Dixiecrats." Robert Kennedy Jr. has said that legislation in 1986 made it easy to lie on the air. It was at some time in the 1990s that Rupert Murdoch got a foothold in the New York media market, thanks to Rudy Guilliano. In the 1992 campaign, George H.W. Bush invited Rush Limbaugh to the White House to meet with him. There could be no reason for such a meeting other than to present Rush with his campaign script. Also, in the 90s, Jerry Falwell distributed videos that accused Clinton of being a murderer and a drug dealer.
But after Murdoch expanded his network and after the ascendancy of social media and the internet, hatefulness has exploded -- nurtured by a small group of media personalities.
To what end? I have no idea. It has resulted in a severe polarization of the electorate and has brought the business of government to a screeching halt.
I'm just here to warn that these people -- these brainwashed, dunderheaded fools -- hate and feel threatened by liberals, "leftists," people of color, gays, Muslims, and Mexicans. They hate "the other." And if provoked enough, they will shoot us -- believing that they are defending 'merica.

....and from the looking at this video....there are a lot of people full of it.

It is very ugly and hurts my brain to see individuals like this. These people were raised without compassion or feelings for their fellow man and it disgusts me.

...and I feel sorry for everyone of them because they all live in fear.

16 MINUTES OF simian hatred and ignorance.

The entire video was of savages throwing verbal feces at the interviewer and cameraperson. (And those dauntless souls deserve our undying admiration -- it took guts to confront these angry, crazy, violent people.)

The 1% has complete control of these douche-nozzles. Holy crap, the 1% doesn't even have to create scapegoats for them. The savages have a whole stable of scapegoats: gays, lesbians, jews, mexicans, african americans, college professors, college students.

And, no mistake about it, the douche-nozzles want all of their scapegoats dead -- and that means you, me, our parents, our children -- and our pets. It's all very O.T., but self-generated.

support the GOP. Period.
The wealthier people who vote Republican are probably aware that the politicians from their party lie about wealth trickling down and fear-monger to the wingnuts, but they could care less. All they care about are paying close to 0% income taxes while social services get cut.

It's nothing new to me, really, because I live in Texas. It is horrible, don't get me wrong.

It makes me want to cry to see such hate spewing from the mouths of people who don't have even a glimmer of intelligence, but will most assuredly all be in church on Sunday.

It makes me very grateful to have been raised by parents who had enough sense to teach me to have an open mind, to have some compassion for people who may not be exactly like me in whatever respect, and to be grateful that these same parents made sure I had an education so that I can understand facts and figures and not be simply a sheep following a crowd because I'm too damn scared to disagree.

There is no arguing with idiots like this - that's what scares me the most. You cannot have a rational discussion with them because they can't think.

If this is what you get when you walk around and ask people at random, all I can say is... wow.

So many people will believe almost anything you tell them. And they sound like they'll fight for these lies.

If a dictator ever wanted to take over America, all that would be needed is to take over Fox News. Oh, and pay Limbaugh even more money than he's getting now.

That is depressing.
