Good thing his knees and hearing were ok. Presumably it was blasts from the trains' horns' that woke him up, plus being able to jump far enough to get clear, twice.

i have been around trains for a long time ( railfanning ,trainspotting etc volunteer at a train museum) there is a rule in the rule book, a train can come any track. any time , any direction . any way. and saftey is of the first concern. yah he is lucky.
