Mike Malloy on censorship of US history in schools

October 26, 2012, hour 1, last subject of segment 3: Mike then tells a personal story about explaining the treatment of the Native Americans to his 8-year-old daughter Molly during a family trip to Savannah, Ga. and how he learned a jingoistic, hagiographic version of US history in high school.

The lyric "all the crap I learned in high school" is from Paul Simon's song "Kodachrome".

Generally: grade 10 takes world history, grade 11 US history, and grade 12 government/politics in CA.

H.S. teacher. She studied at a small liberal arts college. She is determined to teach honestly. In addition to her school studies she was exposed (by me) to REAL history, via Zinn, Chomsky and other great authors.
I hope she is able to tell the truth without being censored. I know her and her principles, she will find a way or reluctantly find a new profession...

"I know that you can walk on water, but can you walk on this much beer?"

All in all, it's a good point made, as usual, by Mike.
