(1,209 posts)They definitely are not shy to use whatever stereotypes they have... and that's obviously how they see Russia.
These Taiwanese vid makers are very prolific, they put out a few of these animated videos a day.

(209 posts)has a "mentor" named Alexandr Dugin who possesses a very radical type of ideology, similar to Alex Jones as viewing the United States as the center of the Illuminati. He desires a Imperial Russian state ruled by a King and the Orthodox Russian church (but not in those words), and this is why you see the attack on gay rights and other things in that country. He also has other strange things, for example suggestions of invading other countries and renaming them according to their ancient names.

(7,865 posts)I am appreciate that foreign news outlets are teasing out these differences in ideology. All Americans need to know how stupid we appear by giving into the nonsense of our ultra-right wing.

(20,783 posts)It's bigoted, but like a lot of bigotry, there is a basis in reality.
If you've ever seen The Triplets of Belleville, you have to conclude that the French have the same view of Americans as the Taiwanese.

Houston is Americas Fattest City

snippet:
"The March 2012 issue of Mens Fitness includes the magazines first Americas Fattest Cities survey since 2009, and yes Houston, we have a problem. (We hate that cliché, too, but Mens Fitness itself already claimed the stock everythings bigger joke.)
As Nate Millards feature (which is not yet available online) began:
Well spare you the predictable Texas-size jokes, but one thing Houston seems to maintain - and expand yearly - is the circumference of its collective paunch
according to the (Center for Disease Control) a whopping 34% of H-Town residents are overweight. In previous surveys, wed claimed Houston was on the upswing in the weight-loss department, but theres evidently been a bit of a regression since we last checked in.
Indeed, Houston had hovered around fifth or sixth between 2004 and 2009, after famously topping the magazines list for three straight years from 2001 to 2003."
