The big money interests support Harper just as they support the ending of the social safety net and fostering a warzone mentality that is killing Americans everyday and diverting our energies from what we need to be doing.

First of all, I can't believe many of them don't lock their doors! Even if I were to live in a country as safe as Canada, I would still lock my doors as a precaution. And since they kinda advertised this, there'll probably be a ton of thieves trying to go on sprees up there. But what was more amazing is how well-kept their so-called "ghettoes" looked. The streets still looked fairly clean! You go to a 'hood in, say, Baltimore or Philly, and it looks dumbass grimy (no offense to people from those cities BTW).
Also when MM was interviewing those people at 8:47-9:00 about whether everybody should be guaranteed health care and they said "yes" because it's basic human rights, that REALLY came as a culture shock to me. Here in the U.S. of A., we have one political party who seems to look at it as a privilege rather than a right. It's as if the GOP wants to punish you for being poor. These are supposedly the people who tout the message of being pro-life, but really they only care about you when you're a fetus.

First I think we need to clarify. In Canada, we do lock our doors when we go out but we often don't lock our doors when we are in, unless we have no plans to go out again or are ready to go to sleep. In the summer I will lock up just before bed.
