5. Capacitors have always excelled in the fast discharge area, the reason we have batteries

powering everything is their lower cost and higher energy density.

If your electric car requires 10,000 lbs of super capacitors it's not going to matter so much that the
car can be fully recharged in 1 minute.

As the above statement and provided links indicate, this film was produced by videographer/students who produced it with this ''gee-whiz'' quality you mentioned in order to get people talking about the issue and to win the $100,000 prize. And they appear to have accomplished one and possibly both. The film was not designed to appeal to physicists, electrical engineers or other similarly inclined nerd-like humans. While these students are nerds mind you, they are of a different variety and come equipped with cameras.
