... when he says that Farmers Branch is a conservative place - that is not really true - there are TONS of democrats/liberals in Dallas County.

Farmers Branch is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States. It is an inner-ring suburb of Dallas...

In the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections Obama won Dallas County.

In fact Obama won the majority of our largest cities/counties: Austin/Travis, Dallas/Dallas, Houston/Harris, San Antonio, El Paso, etc.

I'm glad this video has been posted here on DU so that more folks can see that the common stereotype of us folks down here in Texas it not true

I cringed when they called Texas a "red state". We're more purple, with bright blue spots, as you mention.

I've eaten at this restaurant many times. Great food and comfy atmosphere.

I hope more people who habitually bash "red states" (TEXAS) will stop by and maybe expand their consciousness a bit.
Bigotry and prejudice are a very ignorant view, no matter the object.

to everyone who loves and can love. This is a really moving -- OK, OK, maybe a little schmaltzy -- and genuine demonstration of real love.

where ignorance and racism still flourish. Despite the booming oil and gas industry and low unemployment, poverty is evident and shocking. There are well paying jobs in the oil fields, but many jobs are minimum wage. This is Walmart, fast food, and convenience store country. In this part of Texas, Obama is a dirty word. I watched commercials for Ted Cruz's senate run and they were blatant crap about standing up to Obama who only wants to end oil and gas production, even though production has been higher the last 4 years than it has been for 30 years, "that damn Obama!"
