Fewer people are watching FOX as they can no longer afford cable while earning the current minimum wage.

What these people fail to realize is that low wages hurt all businesses. If people can't afford to buy goods and services then you can't get their business. If everybody's poor then you can't make money off them. It really is that simple. The more people you try to exclude from the economy through low wages the less opportunity there is for business to succeed.

in the long run for all businesses. You may grow as a business and end up needing 5 employees, and more people just entered the economy.

Another thing that would help the economy is to make Medicare for All so that no one is tied to their jobs and new businesses can afford to open, operate, and compete with a big chain. Another item that would help is to allow people to retire at 55 or 60 to allow people to have some fun with their lives and open up opportunities for younger people entering the job market. Also, not everyone loves the job they are at, if at 50-60, one had the opportunity to change from job to passion, volunteering, or spending time with family, friends, and grand kids, it would be nice to do before some debulitating illness takes us out of the opportunity to do so. Lastly, we have major improvements in our technology. We are more productive today than ever, why not allow that productivity and technology to help us out and reduce the number of work hours required to make a living? Why not have living wages for a full weeks work be equal to 30hrs instead of 40? Most families have 2 people out of the home working. Why is it that 2 people working 80hrs or more can barely afford to live? It's not right; especially knowing how much money is out there sitting idle in bank accounts of the wealthy and big corporations. Insist on a progressive tax so that money is entering the economy in real value terms. Take the taxes and hire people to help re-build our infrastructure and fund the technology to move forward off of oil. I know those with money hoarding problems don't want to lose their power over the world, but F them! They shouldn't be controlling the lives of billions of people like they do. We need to take out People Power back around the world.

be lobbying for them. Large businesses lobby for lower min wages for their benefit at the expense of the small businesses.
