Papantonio: Senate Democrats Need Stronger Leader Than Reid

Mike Papantonio and Ed Schultz discuss the lack of strong leadership within the Democratic Party, especially from Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and how without that leadership, Democrats will continue to be trounced by Republican opposition.

1. Yes they "need" stronger leadership, but seems Reid is doing exactly what the

Senate Democrats want him to do. Blaming Reid is too easy. The system is corrupt.

2. While I Agree, It Is Not All Reid's Fault

Reid couldn't get the necessary 51 votes to pass filibuster reform, thanks to the likes of Sen. Feinstein and a handful of others. But a stronger leader could have twisted arms and gotten those 51 votes. Bottom line, what is happening is exactly what was predicted would happen. One thing we can be certain of is that if a Republican was in the Whitehouse and Republicans had a majority in the Senate that they would have rammed home filibuster rule changes.

3. Reid is the Senate Majority Leader...

There are at least 55 members in the Senate Democratic caucus. Reid should not have promised filibuster reform if he couldn't deliver. He shouldn't be the "Leader" if he cannot get his troops to follow his lead. He failed big time, and we'll be paying for his failure for the entire term of the 113th Congress. The failure is his and his alone... I don't want to hear word the first about GOP Senate obstruction from Reid for the term of this Congress.

4. We don't need a stronger leader in the senate

Just a leader would be an improvement.

5. I still can't help but think it's not so much a lack of strength

in dealing with the GOP, rather it is simply "complicity".
