Clearly the "best" PF album is Dark Side (even though my personal fav is WYWH). But you're talking about for the specific use of listening while on a long drive. I'm tempted to select Meddle, but DS, WYWH and The Wall all have a legitimate argument. How long is this drive? If it's a few hours, I suggest you start with Meddle and just go in order. Hell, if it's long enough, throw Animals in there, too. If it's reasonably short (say long enough for one album), I think you go with DS.

it keeps taking me to a page saying, "You can't Log On because you are already Logged On".

Anyways, my vote is for Animals and if you have time Dark Side.

Standard factory cd player, aftermarket JBL GTO-638 speakers in the doors, no subwoofer. Nice clean highs from those speakers.

but that 4 album stretch of Dark side, WYWH, Animals and the Wall is one of the finest feats of recorded music in the universe so line 'em up and hit repeat.

I voted Animals for just one album though.

And naturally you get to pick how you listen but I am firmly of the opinion that Pink Floyd albums should heard in their entirety in the order recorded. No randomizing crap. Randomizing is for short pop songs and lists of one hit wonders.

plus some time for pit stops.

It looks like I'll be getting more than one Pink Floyd CD!

I agree about the randomizing. My ipod has that capability, but I've never used it.

yowza that's a long haul...you'll have time to listen to all those I think..hell, add in the 8 Led Zeppelin studio albums while you're at it!

I worry about some of that early PF stuff - it could put you to sleep....until you get to Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave and Grooving With A Pict...at which point you'll be freaked out and drive off the road...

Don't freak out and drive off the road.
