it appears that the woman did it solely out of her love for Christ, and to share that love with her fellow believers.

Of course, Marcel Duchamp would champion her appropriation and "making it new"
Also, if one of the purposes of modern art is "to shock the bourgeois" she certainly succeeded there.

I think it's wonderful.

Just sandblast the wall, paint it tan again and have a trained artist paint another Jesus fresco where this fucked-up one now stands.
