(113,323 posts)your favourite drink, and look at all the images (and read some of the comments) at the link. There are some truly incredible ones, including the Dome Garden in Singapore, and a number on Ukraine. Your blood pressure will thank you!
Again, thank you, Bayard, for this lovely gift.
And you're welcome!

(1,840 posts)So many remarkable actions. It makes me feel sad that the world seems so overwhelming. Strength is the key here I guess. It does seem hopeless at times and then I read these stories. Peace and love to you!💗🙏🏼

(17,247 posts)Sendler's achievements were largely unknown in North America until 1999, when students at a high school in Uniontown, Kansas, led by their teacher Norman Conard, produced a play based on their research into her life story, which they called Life in a Jar. The play was a surprising success,..............The play was adapted for television as The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler (2009), directed by John Kent Harrison, in which Sendler was portrayed by actress Anna Paquin.[

(35,675 posts)but I can't figure out how to switch my tv to VCR status. I don't have the original remote and it's an older smart tv.
Maybe I can find a friend who will let me watch it at their house.
Hey, thanks for alerting the rest of us.

(15,383 posts)My mom's hometown. Very small, blink and you miss it. Up until my 30s, my grandma's farm was still in the family. Finally got sold.

Must have been exciting to see your mom's hometown on the list. Is Susanna Salter celebrated there?

(15,383 posts)It's a small town. No one on my mom's side of the family ever talked about her. She's got a plaque in the town square, and her home is on the national register, but other than that, I've never heard of anything. To be fair though, we were rarely in town. When we visited, it was either to go to Grandma's farm which was a few miles outside of town or the cemetery on the East side of town.

(18,242 posts)I'm sitting here trying to figure out what to fix for dinner. Having a bit of a stupid hour. I've been doing dinner for 59 years. Not every night but most night . Tonight I'm drifting. Probably warming up boxed lasagna with a salad. Husband may not like it but he doesn't help so I don't care.
I just don't care. I'll be ok in a few.
