I can't even see the detail.
Kelly Osbourne wore an extremely expensive item to the 2012 Emmys on Sunday but its not the type of accessory you might think.
The Fashion Police host donned a $250,000 Black Diamond manicure to awards ceremony, courtesy of Los Angeles-based jeweler Azature.
The nail polish contains 267 carats of crushed black diamond powder in each bottle, which explains the quarter-of-a-million-dollar price tag.
Osbourne told E! on the red carpet, Ive been so scared to touch anything because its powdered black diamonds
worth $250,000, adding, I have not touched a thing all day.

(32,094 posts)I could live very well for at least 5 years on that kind of money. Must be nice to have that kind of money to piss away like that, just by the sheer fact that your father is famous.

(46,758 posts)...I guess that's the point. It's a $250,000 conversation piece.

(47,675 posts)As Billy Joel said in "The Entertainer", (paraphrase) - if you lose your audience you end up the discount rack and nobody will remember your name. That's not the exact quote by any means, but that's what he means.

(36,827 posts)It's no more than I care what a poor person does with public assistance funds. I don't care about what rich people use with their money; I care about how rich people use their money. Rich people use their money to make more money, at least the ones who are smart. For that they are given an incredible advantage over anyone who gets their income from wages. That's why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

(95,337 posts)How someone out there decided that Kelly Osborne is a style icon is beyond me. I think her taste is clothing and the judging of others is just ridiculous which I guess makes her the perfect replacement for when Joan Rivers kicks the bucket.

(41,991 posts)Like couture. The nail polish creator made one or two bottles of the crazy expensive stuff and many, many $25 bottles that are being advertized. They could make money on that publicity. As to crushed diamonds, they are the ultimate in recyclable material.
So I think the whole thing is spin.
