walk the toddler instead. That's not a good dog, that's a great dog! 
Also, not many toddlers would remember to pick up the leash afterwards. I'd have to say great parenting, all around.

About 10 years ago, I realized that I hadn't splashed in a mud puddle for the
sheer joy of it in decades and I wondered why not. Since then, every once in
a great while, I'll go out of my WAY to splash in a ood puddle.

I DO look around a little guiltily to see if anyone had caught me doing so.

About the same time, I planned and took a solo, leisurely perimeter trip
around the edges of Arizona... using http://www.roadsideamerica.com/ . I HIGHLY
recommend using that to plan a FUN vacation focused on little weird
things all around the country.

One of the places I found and visited was in the NW corner of Arizona, about
20-25 miles south of The Grand Canyon... Bedrock City, AZ. It was a kinda
rundown attraction that was a lowtech village incorporating a lot of cool
Flintstone stuff. I got there in the late afternoon and the only other visitors
there was this couple who looked to be in their late 60's-early 70's. As they
walked towards their car in the parking lot, Grandpa grabbed Grandma's ass
and she actually giggled.

I told the woman in the gift shop about it (the only employee present that
I could see) and she laughed and said, "We get a lot of that here."

They were still in the childhood state that being there had caused to happen
to them (and would soon happen to me).

Incredibly lowtech (the only hi-tech thing were Flintstone cartoons projected
on the walls of Bedrock's "theater"

Incredibly COOL -- I wandered for a couple of hours, in a haze of childhood
memories and feelings.

Below is a picture of the brontosaurus in the center of the village. There is a
"tunnel" between its front legs with a staircase and you walk up onto its
back around where that little yellow canopy is. Then there's a big playground
slide where you slide down the tail just like Fred did at the end of his workday
(and the beginning of each cartoon). I walked up, checked it and the surrounding
view out, and turned to walk back down the steps.

Luckily, I caught myself RIGHT as I started down. I turned back around and SLID
down that tail. I didn't shout "YA-BA-DA-BA-DOO"... but I did say it in a normal
tone of voice.

I'm pretty sure if I had NOT done that, I would've driven about 1/2 hour away
and woulda had to turn back to slide down that damn tail.

It was yet another mudpuddle that I ALMOST failed to splash around in.
