What was your favorite item(s) which you were outbid on Ebay or other auction?

For me, it was Ebay. There was an intriguing collection of old time brass keys. For no reason I can think of, I wanted them for my dad. I think the winning bid was over a hundred dollars.

Real close, can't find a picture but it's a metal model 9 inches tall from the wind industry association.

I just got outbid on a string of gumball lights. But I can patiently wait through the year in the hopes there will be others put up on auction. But first editions? Sucks.

Someone has a collection of 5 of them on ebay right now for $350 as the asking price.

I have one of these and am now kicking myself for not getting the whole set back when they were much cheaper.

What makes them so expensive? Is it a much desired collectible?

I'm still kicking myself for not buying more than one gingerbread man coffee cup from Michaels!

I have a few others from different artists, but my most prized cup is one of these. Espresso geeks like me collect them. These are by artist Robert Rauschenberg who died in 2008 years after I bought my one cup from the collection.

on eBay. Tried to get them but they went a bit over my budget. Sad thing is, I told my mom about it later and she said I should have gone higher on them...
