I wanted to buy my sister a pair of those electric slippers/boots for Christmas. I sent out my o rder in mid-November and paid by credit card. I never received my email confirmation but they did take my money. I tried to call them by the number they provided, but all I get is a a recording saying that they can't "can't take my call at this time".
Where do I go from here?

(12,272 posts)At least you will find out if they are legit and maybe just slipped-up.

(28,394 posts)I tried to order something from their holiday catalog a few years ago. Weeks went by and they eventually got around to letting me know it was unavailable. So, I had to scramble for another gift right before Christmas. I told them to take my name off their mailing list. And right now I'm giving them a bad rec on the internet.

USA. When it did not arrive I emailed them. They said they had sent it to me in Montreal but the address was wrong. I think I said "f it". And forgot about it.

(2,097 posts)This was several years ago. They took my money. I'm still waiting for the SoyGel. I could never get them on the phone either.
I don't know what to tell you to do. I took my very expensive lesson and never bought anything from Franmar again.
But it least it was for me. If it had been a gift, I would have been even more angry.
Although, frankly, I'm still pretty ticked.

(12,392 posts)Amazon is excellent, IMO. Never a problem, and I've ordered tons of stuff from them.
Disney also. I had four hundred dollars credit from my Disney card so I went Christmas shopping with it in their online catalog. I had a very large order and everything came on time, great condition, excellent quality products.
I've never had problems with ebay either, or any other mail order company, although most products are listed on Amazon so I just go there.
Other than Amazon whose online instructions are large and crystal clear, I usually call the 800 number and order with a person.

(14,275 posts)If you paid by credit card, you should still be able to get the charge reversed.

(1,846 posts)and check for online reviews to see how many other people have had the same problem. And as has already been mentioned, call your credit card company and have the charges reversed. You may want to file a complaint with your attorney general as well.
Good Luck!

(21,020 posts)A couple of people have suggested googling the company name to see if they are legit.
I would say that the best time to do that is before you order, not after you've ordered and been screwed over.
If you buy on eBay, check the feedback ratings/comments.
If you see a product advertised on TV, check the reviews before ordering. I've saved myself lots of aggravation by doing that.

(487 posts)Tell them what happened and that you want yoru money back.
After that, get yourself a Pay Pal account that covers such things.
