Don't worry, spiders, I keep house casually.

** Completely edited thread title in effort to keep it from sinking.**

Formerly a thread about poems - ones that make you smile or describe you well.

I have always loved that short poem, and it suits my house quite well. Written by Kobayashi Issa, translated by Robert Hass

’Tis not in the high stars alone,
Not in the cups of budding flowers,
Nor in the redbreast’s mellow tone,
Nor in the bow that shines in showers,
But in the mud and scum of things,
There alway, alway something sings.

If this makes me Pollyanna, so be it...but I choose happiness over despair. Thank you for starting a very interesting thread!

Spider, air-crawling
Trusting in planes so fragile
In eight legs, balance

Tiny arachnids
Parachuting to strange lands
On a bold mission

Gliding on water
Dipping in the blue to find
Every fish takes bait
