Tonight I get to experience truly weird. My daughter is taking me to see The Residents.

There is no more mysterious - and downright bizarre - "band" in all of rock music or perhaps any genre whatsoever.

It is a Christmas present. It will likely be something I will never forget (but enjoy? we shall see!)

If you want to get a taste, there are plenty of YouTube clips of their music...but watch and listen at your own risk!

"Randy" on vocals, in a santa suit and weird bozo the clown mask. Same singer since they started, on their 1972 debut.

"ChucK" on keyboards/laptop electronics. yellow pants, black top, black full head mask with ropy yellow and orange colored hair and goggles.

"Bob" on electric guitar, similarly dressed to "Chuck" - weird schtick between songs, a bit of a story about their history, just so so weird. I snapped some pics and vid clips with my phone - will try to load them tomorrow!

I thought they always wear the eyeball masks.

That sounds amazing. Was it fairly musical or mainly industrial noise?

Thanks for posting! Look forward to seeing those pics if you can upload them!

There were so many totally excellent videos on youtube,
I'll be lost there for hours when I have the time to watch closely.

I'm curious, NRaleighLiberal, which ones were your favorites?
