I'm sure s/he'll find a home -- s/he's just got such an interesting face...
From Huffington Post:
It's just one of those things that are like, "Whoa, dude."
Gawker pointed out that Tonik, a poodle-Shih Tzu mix available for adoption from an Indiana animal welfare agency, actually has an "eerily humanoid" face.
Petfinder notes that the dog came to the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group from a kill shelter in Kentucky. The personable photos were taken by Renny Mills, a professional pet photographer.
In an email to The Huffington Post, Jen Schwartz, the owner of Homeward Bound, said the shelter had recently taken in dogs that required dental work and had illnesses that required expensive treatments.

I'm just glad there are rescue groups that remove animals from kill shelters, place them with rescue groups, etc.
It's work that I don't think I could do without suffering an emotional breakdown, but I am so incredibly grateful and thankful for people who do that work.

(13,661 posts)I just had the most epic headache yesterday (this storm system is going to make my head implode - too much pressure) and I was functioning at about 25% speed yesterday.

(13,447 posts)But that face freaks me out a little. I don't need a humanoid face staring at me when I wake up in the morning.

(12,272 posts)I am a sucker for animals as it is, that dog asking me for treats, scritches or walkies, I couldn't tell him "no".

(6,122 posts)I spotted him one night, eating dry food that we leave out for strays. At first, I didn't know what kind of animal it was. On the second night, I moved the catfood closer to my back door. Every night, I'd move it closer and closer, then I finally opened the door and talked to him through the screen door. He was terrified of people, and he looked like he had a right to be. His face was full of scars, he had only half of one ear and his tail had been chopped off at midpoint.
Well, it took awhile and alot of patience, but he finally came inside the house. After about six months, he was comfortable with us. He was part of our family for eight years. Last month, I had to have him euthanized because of kidney disease. I really miss the ugliest cat in the world. He was very sweet and nurtured the other two cats.

(6,122 posts)He had manners. He'd wait his turn to be fed while the two other cats meowed their heads off. He made sure to stay out of the way when there was alot of activity in the kitchen. I swear he was showing gratitude. We were grateful to have him, too.
