OHBOYOHBOYOHBOY!!!

Went to my computer guy's workshop yesterday and checked out the progress on my gaming rig.

Never in my life have I seen such shiny and wondrous doohickies in a computer that I owned.

It's got copper tubes with a magnetic cooling fluid...

I am SOOOOO stoked!

I will finally be out of the stone ages...and stepping into pre-industrial age.

Now...if I can only come up with the 500 or so ducats to pay for all the shinies.

By the same studio and director of Akira.

There's another mod-theme you could go with s well, though I don't think the world would survive another Akira

one of the best anime films of all time.
I'm just glad that the live action version was shot down.
you KNOW it was going to ruin it, lol.

An American version wouldn't have worked for American audiences, anyway. Way too deep, if they kept the original science fiction elements. Sci-Fi in the U.S. isn't thought-provoking. It's action and/or horror. Much as I'd like to see Ringworld turned into a movie, it would fail at the box-office.

The American version was very harshly ridiculed before it even started filming.
I think it was shelved because of the online uproar.

I'm not as big into anime as it may seem. I like the serious stuff, and next to none of the silly/cheap stuff. TCM showed a bunch of Miyazaki's and Takahata's movies a few years ago, so I got to see some of their dramas that were never shown on the big screen in this country (such as Takahata's "Only Yesterday".) Also got to see Porco Rosso which is funny and silly, yet beautifully done

He's a tongue in cheek "chap-hop" rapper that is into steampunk.
Very funny videos and lyrics.

Englishmen in clothing and facial hair-styles of the late 1900's politely disrespecting each other.
I find it to be hilarious.

but it went in one ear and out the other, I was mesmerized by all the shiny glowing doohickeys.

I know it's got the biggest graphics card I've ever seen.

None of this is new stuff, btw, or the best, but the price is right. He's helpin me build a budget gaming rig, it's all stuff from other computers he had laying around. It's better than what I've had before though, by leaps and bounds.

I know the gpu has 1gig of RAM on board and the system has at least 4 gigs of RAM.

Will be buying an SSD for it today...if I get paid. lol

I've been unable to play my game for about 6 months now, and my guildies are giving me hell, lol.

Dungeons and Dragons Online.
I like it because it's not filled with youngsters calling everyone noobs and asking for free shit.

It's old farts like me who used to or still play pnp DnD, who got bored/aggravated with WoW.

The combat is superior to any MMORPG I've played.

But you can go VIP which means MUCH less grinding for XP and loots, and pretty much unfettered access to any area, if you meet the minimum level reqs.
Right before I had my computer problems, I paid 99 bucks for a one year subscription.
