Chewing Tobacco. Fiberglass, really?

I just came across this on the internuts:

"I quit a few years back but I'm not sure if there is a "mildest" form. If I had to guess it would be anything that is in a pouch form. Most dip has I believe it's fiberglass in it that makes abrasions in the skin which allows the nicotine to enter your bloodstream. With the pouches I'd assume that doesn't happen as easily if at all. But I started on Skoal and eventually switched to Cope."

Is this true? Is this how chewing tobacco works? They have to cut into the inside of the mouth to get into the blood stream?

The fiberglass claim is apparently an urban myth... PoliticAverse Feb 2013 #2
Thank you for that! Baitball Blogger Feb 2013 #3
Besides, it doesn't matter. After a year or so the gingivitis will prevent any need for abbrasives. Gorp Feb 2013 #4

although, make no mistake, chewing tobacco is still horrendously bad for someone. But the part about the fiberglass isn't true for all I know.
