Then again, I'd build a hobbit house if I could. Underground houses (or "earth covered" as they are often called) are amazingly energy efficient.

I think the ones from the LOTR movies were a lot closer to the descriptions in the books, specifically Sam's, but that one's pretty neat too. Isn't it a Tolkein museum or something? I forget.

The "large" man opening the door is the architect. He designed this house for the owner to display his Tolkien stuff - so I guess it is a private museum of sorts. My guess is that the owner lives in the house next door in one of the pictures.

Who is the owner? Where is this? The architect wanted to protect the owner's privacy. However, as I recall the article said it was somewhere in Pennsylvania.
