However, some people shouldn't be allowed out in public!
So, I have been on cloud nine the last couple weeks totally ignoring broken down trucks because I was driving a great little rental car I just kept renewing from when my friend from Germany was here.
Anyway, MFM had been wanting to get together for something besides a hospital visit, so I agreed to go to town yesterday and go to lunch.
OH boy. First, he orders this gigantic multicolored girly gringa tourista drink.
Then, since he obviously hasn't touched hard alcohol in years he proceeds to get sloppy drunk, gets in a fistfight with the waitress - I mean it was so bad she had him up in the air over her head - and she couldn't have weighed more than 100 lbs. It was just embarrassing.
Eventually, after I got him to eat some food he calmed down, and we got out of there before the cops arrived, but then he insisted he was sober enough to run one errand so I took him to wallyworld and waited in the parking lot. Of course I could hear the yelling from out there, but at least I wasn't seen as some kind of accomplice.
Finally he comes out with his pants in a shopping bag and I drove straight back to his house before he could think of anything else he needed "to do."
Lesson? If you ever go to lunch with MFM beware when this happens:

three layered margarita in the colors of the Mexican flag. green has midori added, the middle is regular margarita and the top is strawberry. he ordered it just to embarrass me, I am sure.
we both had our laptops there. we figured if we ran out of things to talk about we could chat here in the Lounge
oh yeah the glasses - his mouse is the same color, he claims that is so he can find them easier. yeah, right
I can't drive anybody anywere, had to take the rental back today

if I ever get some kind of reliable transportation again we really need to do a Tucson/southern AZ meet up. we have all talked about it before but I think the heat here tends to make everybody lethargic and unmotivated to organize anything
