Seemed like a good idea at the time???

What is your regret?

Mine of the moment is simple. Two years ago, I planted clumps of morning glories on the bean trellis that runs the length of my garden. About 8-10 feet of beans, then a morning glory vine. It was beautiful.

Two years later, I am still pulling thousands of morning glory seedlings. Left to grow, they would take over the entire garden.

Seemed like a good idea at the time!

Yours???

I have a few of those. Trumpet vine, hops, a persimmon tree. noamnety Jul 2013 #1
Are you sure it isn't chokeweed? It looks like morning glories but kills everything. Scrignoli Jul 2013 #2
Nope, morning glories. Denninmi Jul 2013 #3

Installed a 2 foot depth barrier of heavy plastic for containment. The big regret was putting a layer of stones on the trench bottom to aid in "drainage." Roots found there way under the stone and shoots started popping up all over, including the neighbors yard. We ended up taking it all out. Very hard work.

But ... it was gorgeous while we had it. We saved several shoots and replanted in above ground pots. Still have them.
