I keep getting a msg that a 'script is causing Adobe acrobat to run slowly". I click to kill the

script but it doesn't seem to matter. Everything gets locked up and I get a msg saying DU is not responding and eventually I have to go to the Task Manager and kill the thread.

I'm mentioning this because, for me anyway, this is pretty much making doing anything on DU impossible. This means inevitably, and unfortunately, I will be spending less and less time on DU. If this is affecting others this way you could see DU become a feature of internet history and nothing more than that.

too bad.

..... (that is an adjustment that can be made by us users).

I think it goes deeper into somebody's software or the communications between DU and somebody's software. But if it continues and many people have this problem it would not bode well for DU - which to me is not a good thing.

Some of us have experienced the same problem before, and turning off the social media tabs in DU solved it.

It won't necessarily work in every case. But if the source of the long-running scripts is one of the social media tabs, this should fix it.

Basically if you go up to Tools on your IE and then Internet Options and then go to the Advanced tab and scroll down to browsing your boxes on three things should look like this.

I haven't had any trouble with IE for DU but I'm usually using Firefox.

thanks for the detailed comment. I have found that Opera seems less prone to getting tied up than IE. I'll try Firefox too.

thanks.

I had similar issues with IE, and I switched to Firefox, and it went away. That helped a lot of things for me!

And you are right, switching to Firefox fixes the problem. But first, I have to restart my computer. Restarting cures a lot of my problems.
