my 1st ever glass of mead

I've always wanted to try it. My vacation starts this minute, and a local store had a sign that they had mead, so I picked up a bottle during break. The woman at the checkout told me it is very sweet and she loves it.

So here it goes.

hmmmm....it is a little sweet and sour and fizzy. I can smell and taste the honey. Not bad...it may grow on you.

My parents brought back a bottle of Cornish Mead they got at Harrod's in the 70's. I've been in love ever since.

I'm not sure it was the mead. It may have been the overeating at work party -- 2 of american chop suey, rice crackers and hummus, carrot cake, lemonade, oh, and did I mention the 2 helpings of chili?

So after I've recovered from the binge and am back on the healthy path, I'll give it a 2nd try. Any more nightmares, though, and the mead will have to go. It was really, really bad. Kitten and puppy lovers, don't ask.
