I'm sorry. I struggle with intrusive memories, too, and I know it's hell. I wish I could do something for you.

An article I read recently about dealing with this suggested changing your sensory input -- sniffing something with a strong fragrance, doing a physical task, etc. I don't know if that would help you or not, but I do get a little relief that way.

Since the lovely little nightmare I had precludes any more sleep, I'm hauling crap from my house through the quiet suburban darkness, down the road between my driveways, and setting it out for a yard sale. And waiting for the cops to come along and ask me why I am carrying a microwave down the street at 4 in the morning.

Better than doing nothing.

I now have the big lime green aura with black center in my field of vision which is the marker of an oncoming migraine. Plus I feel like I'm going to be puking in about 3 minutes. I had to turn the brightness level on the screen to about 20 % and sit in a really dark corner of the yard to see well enough to post.

It was just a very unsettling dream. On the plus side, after the migraine, and after my protein shake breakfast decided to quit the premises, I feel much better and am getting rid of a garage full of unnecessary crap. Yeah buddy!
