Unplug

At least for one evening or afternoon from the outside electronic world. Not even music allowed unless you make it yourself. It will do you a world of good, especially if you enjoy the luxury of solitude with it. After my early lunch and nap today, I woke up and decided to do that since I tend to be a little tightly wound, let's say.

So I got busy preparing for tomorrow and the fifth-Sunday carry-in, etc. Caught up on housework. Spent extra time with the dogs. Didn't talk to a living soul other than them. I've never minded washing dishes by hand after I heard Gregory Hinds say it was his favorite job at home; quiet, contemplative, relaxing. Sometimes my attitude does improve. While involved in that particular chore, because of Gregory Hinds and Baryshnikov (sp?), I replay the 'White Nights' movie in my head. No wonder I know it by heart after watching it dozens of times. It's so good that every time even though I know the ending well, I get nervous thinking what if they never make it to the American embassy? Sure, they always have before, but what about THIS time???

I hope thinking about electronic media doesn't count as cheating.

Sometimes I also giggle about another scene in a movie called 'Young Einstein' I think. Anyway, the title character is seen on the front porch of a rundown shack with his parents, and he's washing dishes - only he's also taking a bath at the same time, in the same tub. Sickening but hilarious, I promise.

Don't know how long this mellow mood will last, so I thought I'd make my first run in the Lounge. Nice place.

Gotta run now and check out a few other threads before reading time. I'm way behind on my books, and it's largely DU's fault.
